The PAT Test Engineer is dedicated to the In-Service Inspection and Test or Electrical Equipment regardless of your business or equipment type.
We are qualified and experienced within the field and are also a member of the "Portable Appliance Testing Trade Association" (PATTA) which is a voluntary trade association dedicated to raising standards and awareness within the industry.
The Electricity at Work Regulations (1989) apply to all aspects of the use of electricity within the workplace. They place responsibilities on employers, employees and on the self-employed to prevent danger to both themselves and to others who may be affected regarding the use of electrical equipment.
Compliance with this regulation is demonstrated in the form of PAT Testing.
It's also worth noting that the most common result of a faulty electrical appliance isn't electric shock but is in fact fire, so as part of their terms and conditions, some insurance companies may refuse a claim without documentary evidence of PAT Testing.
The PAT Test Engineer service includes compiling an asset register, a formal visual inspection, the electrical safety tests and the issue of a completed test report and certificate, all carried out in accordance with the IET code of practice.
